Our Mission
Supplement Hunter exists because the UK supplement market is confusing. Hundreds of products, overlapping claims, inconsistent labelling, and marketing that often prioritises hype over science. We believe consumers deserve clear, honest, and evidence-based information to make informed choices about their health.
We research, compare, and rank supplements available in the UK — so you don't have to spend hours reading labels, comparing prices, and decoding ingredient lists. Every review follows a consistent methodology, and every recommendation is based on what we genuinely believe is the best option for the consumer.
Our Methodology
Every supplement we review is evaluated across four key dimensions, each scored from 1 to 10. The overall score is the average of these four ratings.
QIngredient Quality
We evaluate the form and source of the active ingredient, the presence of unnecessary fillers or additives, allergen considerations, and manufacturing standards. Premium, bioavailable forms score higher.
VValue for Money
We calculate the cost per serving, cost per milligram of active ingredient, and compare across similar products. Excellent value doesn't mean cheapest — it means the best quality-to-price ratio.
EEffectiveness
We assess the clinical evidence for the specific form and dosage, bioavailability, and consistency with published research. Products with well-studied, well-dosed active ingredients score higher.
TLabel Transparency
We check whether the label clearly states the form and amount of active ingredient, whether claims are supported, and whether third-party testing or certifications are available. Brands that are upfront score higher.
Editorial Independence
Supplement Hunter is funded through affiliate links. When you buy a product through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running and continue producing independent reviews.
Crucially, affiliate relationships never influence our reviews, scores, or rankings. Products are ranked purely on merit using our methodology. We review products regardless of whether they have an affiliate programme, and we will always recommend what we believe is the best option — even if it earns us less commission.
No brand has paid for placement, and no review has been influenced by commercial relationships. If this ever changes, we will disclose it clearly.
UK Focused
Every product we review is available to purchase in the UK. Prices are in GBP, retailers are UK-based or UK-shipping, and we consider UK regulatory standards (MHRA, EFSA-approved health claims) in our assessments. We know the UK supplement landscape is different from the US market, and our reviews reflect that.
